I've lived in a Christian home all of my life and was raised in church. .. (When I say Christian I mean that my parents are born-again, saved by the grace of God.) .. My dad is a preacher and I remember when I was a small child attending revivals and seeing people shout and get happy. .. I remember, even as a small child, how I loved services such as these and how much I enjoyed them. .. It was as if I was drawn to them.
I made a profession at our home church (I think I was about 5 years old at that time), but I found out later that it was only a profession and not a possession. .. About three years later at 8 years of age, we attended a revival where a preacher friend of ours was preaching. .. This time it was different. .. The Holy Spirit came my way that night, showed me my need of Jesus and I repented and asked God to save me that night. .. I felt a big load lift off of my shoulders and I have been serving God ever since. .. I haven't been perfect or what I would like to be by any means, but I know I am saved.
I thank God for my upbringing and all of those services He allowed me to attend with my family. .. And for giving me Christian parents that taught me about Jesus. .. Most of all, I thank Him for giving me another opportunity to be saved and for not letting me go on thinking I was saved. .. Thank God for His marvelous grace!
